IVC Names New Business for Russia/Community Connections Program Manager

CINCINNATI - Rachel J. Ekeroth has been named Program Manager of the Business for Russia/Community Connections Program (BFR/CC) at the International Visitors Council of Greater Cincinnati. The U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsors the program.

Ms. Ekeroth previously founded Travel Beyond the Headlines, an educational travel business; led an international team of computer professionals in Bonn, Germany, and served as Legislative Aide for Foreign Affairs in the U.S. House of Representatives. She holds a Master's degree in Government from Georgetown University in Washington, DC and a BA in Foreign Affairs from the University of Cincinnati.

Local families and companies have the opportunity to establish cross-cultural ties by participating as home stay hosts and business mentors for the BFR/CC program. The program hosts 10-member delegations from Russia and the newly independent states of the former Soviet Union four times a year. Opportunities are still available to participate with a delegation of Russian entrepreneurs from Chelyabinsk arriving in Cincinnati in late March.

For more than 35 years, the International Visitors Council has sought to create lasting relationships between Greater Cincinnatians and the world. By developing and implementing short and long-term professional training opportunities for over 10,000 visitors globally, the IVC is a leader in promoting international education and understanding
